Dear Alumni,
The 40th Anniversary of Visual Studies Workshop was in 2009 and to celebrate we invite you to come to Rochester in July 2010 for a reunion and events. As for the 40th Anniversary, we are a few months late—a VSW trait that will likely never change. But a good deal has changed at the Workshop over the past few years. We want to show you what is happening now, and to share in what happened then.
The reunion is a holiday weekend, July 2-4, 2010, to make it easy for getting away, and for making room in your summer schedule. We have also made it easy for you to benefit from the reunion by pairing it with VSW’s Photo-Bookworks Symposium, which kicks off the 2010 Summer Institute. Come early for the Photo-Bookworks Symposium, or stay late and gain from a weeklong workshop.
Either way, this alumni reunion will be a great time to catch up with old friends, meet current students and Workshop staff, and to see Nathan and Joan. Nathan celebrated his 80th Birthday this past January. Both he and Joan remain active on VSW’s Board and they work weekly supporting activities in the Research Center.
We are at a unique time in the history of the Workshop—in a position of looking back at the remarkable contributions made by VSW, with an eye toward continuing to contribute in challenging, innovative ways. As a part of our inventive institution’s past and present, we are counting on you to join us July 2-4 for the reunion.
