Lyons has made work in a variety of media including silver-gelatin prints, artists' books, archaic photographic processes, pinhole photography, offset lithography, photo-quiltmaking and computer-based work.
In the current series of digital prints "Representations," Lyons has been photographing historical painting and sculpture, as well as more recently constructed images, in an attempt to isolate and reframe the major project of Western art--the represenation of men and women. A traveling exhibition is available.
