About this objectPhotographer standing in front of his backdrop and next to his camera and a flower-filled vase. The vase rests on a pedestal and at the base of the pedestal is a radio. Next to the pedestral is a ceramic horse and a chair with a gun belt on the seat. The left side of the backdrop has hooks from which hang hats. The backdrop depicts a wall and buildings on ether side of a valley. This photograph was taken as part of a project undertaken by Parker and her husband Avon Neal about itinerant photographers of Guatemala throughout the 1970s. Images from these trips were published in 1984’s Los Ambulantes: The Itinerant Photographers of Guatemala.
