Film Series Call for proposals: LOOPS
LOOPS: Call for Proposals
Media installations, performances and screenings by local and regional artists
Visual Studies Workshop Auditorium
September 7 – 14th
Visual Studies Workshop is seeking artists to participate in LOOPS, a one-week show of media/sound/installation/performance that will take place in the VSW Auditorium, September 7-14, 2018. This show considers the phenomena of the Loop in form and concept, incorporating feedback, repetition, cycles, ellipses, orbits, rotations, and other situations in which the finite meets the infinite.
We are seeking works that address the Loop as installation, performance, audio recording, video, film, software, light, sculpture, time machines, noise, music and other media. There will be opportunities for screenings and performances as well as installations. Please be aware that this will be a group show, and your work will need to co-exist with other works over the course of the week.
If you are interested in participating, please email your proposal (details below) to email@example.com by May 30th. Proposals will be selected by curators Joel Dow and Tara Nelson, and artists will be notified by June 8th.
Proposals must include:
- A clear description of the piece (what it will look/sound like)
- Description of primary media elements (audio tape, 16mm film, VHS, digital video cameras, etc)
- Dimensions and duration, if applicable
- Technical requirements (both what you have and what you will need)
- Images, if possible
- Your contact information
Please send an email with the above information, with links to video and images if relevant. Proposals in the form of PDF, Word doc or Google Drive link are also acceptable.
Proposals must be sent in an email, with “Loops Proposal” as the subject.
Deadline to submit proposals: May 30th
Artists will be notified by: June 8th
