Colectivo Los Ingrávidos emerged as a radical audiovisual form of resistance in Mexico in 2012. Their work draws transhistorical connections across time combining found footage with digital glitches and documentary poetry. Almudena Escobar López is Time-Based Media Curatorial Assistant at the Memorial Art Gallery. She has been collaborating with Colectivo Los Ingrávidos since she co-programmed their work as part of the Flaherty NYC series in 2018. After a short screening including a few pieces from the collective, Escobar López will be in conversation with Colectivo Los Ingrávidos to discuss the relationships between collectivism, radical politics, and image-making.
