Media Coalition for Reproductive Rights
Streaming through July
In response to the Supreme Court’s recent decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, we are featuring videos from the VSW Video Archive that depict the struggle of activists and organizers to uphold reproductive rights in the United States.
This week we are featuring a video from the series The Choice is Ours!, produced in 1989 by the Media Coalition for Reproductive Rights (MCRR). The MCRR was formed in 1989 in Buffalo, N.Y.
This episode features a short documentary produced by TV Dinner, an independent video series founded in Rochester NY in the late 1980’s as part of Metro Act (now Metro Justice).
This tape was preserved by Squeaky Wheel as part of the Axlegrease Archive, a curated program of video art and documentary film broadcast on public television from 1987 to 1999. The video is a transfer from a U-Matic tape part of Squeaky Wheel’s Axlegrease Archive, digitized thanks to the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) 2019 Recordings at Risk grant.
The Axlegrease Archive is now part of the VSW Video Archive. For more information on any of these materials, contact Tara Nelson at email@example.com.
