Visual Studies Workshop is developing Virtual Reality (VR) and games-adjacent creative workshops for artists and community members that have little experience with coding or programming. VSW hopes to make this immersive technology more accessible for more artists with diverse backgrounds. This initiative is rooted in VSW’s longstanding mission to support experimentation in the media arts.

The first VR Workshop at VSW ran in October 2022 and was led by Rebekkah Palov and Nilson Carroll. It was free to attend and was supported by the New York State Council on the Arts. Below are stills from participants’ work.
