Visual Studies Workshop is developing a Virtual Reality (VR) Lab and VR workshops for artists and community members that have little experience with coding or programming. VSW hopes to make this immersive technology more accessible for more artists with diverse backgrounds.

The first VR Workshops at VSW will run October 8-9 & 15-16, 2022 and be taught by artist Rebekkah Palov. If you are interested in this workshop, please take the VR Community Survey for a chance to participate in the first session.

Who Should Apply:

This initiative is designed for artists, photographers, poets, storytellers, activists, and performers that have little or no experience with programming, but are interested in creating art with virtual reality technology. VSW strongly encourages BIPOC artists, LGBTQIA2S+ artists, and immigrant artists to apply.

VSW is also collaborating with Rochester Contemporary Art Center (RoCo) to co-promote a four session introduction to immersive technologies that will take place in-person and over Zoom beginning August 16th.
