Exhibitions Temporary Surface by Sage Lewis
May 9 – June 3, 2016 Project Space
Sage Lewis spent her time in the Project Space establishing a connection between photographic space and textile surface manipulation. She began this work in the spring of 2015 in the Doha and Gulf region where she was inspired by the massive city structures erected seemingly out of the sand and the scorching temperatures that made a hazy aura as heat waves rose through the air.
Sage Lewis holds an MFA from The Ohio State University and recently completed a 10-month Artist-in-Residence Fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. She has recently exhibited at the Portland Museum of Art, Maine, the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Hamad bin Khalifa University Art Gallery in Doha, Qatar.
