Exhibitions The Polaroid Project (Community Project #2) by Ephraim Asili
August 7-September 1, 2019 Project Space One
Ephraim Asili will be using his residency time in the Project Space working on a new artist’s book centered around his recent Polaroid photography project documenting some of the people that make up his creative community. He would also like the book to include original collage work, writing, and a cassette tape related to themes present in the photographs.
Ephraim Asili is a Filmmaker, DeeJay, and Artist whose work focuses on the African diaspora as a cultural force. As a DJ, Asili can be heard live at his monthly dance party Botanica. Asili is also a Professor in the Film and Electronic Arts Department at Bard College.
Support for this exhibition came from Max and Marian Farash Foundation, Joy of Giving Something, and the New York State Council on the Arts Visual Arts program.
