  • “Every filmmaker should find a place of doubt that’s also transcendent” – Jennifer Montgomery

The films of Jennifer Montgomery are unconventional narratives exploring the complicated dynamics of gender, sexuality, identity and the semantics of the psyche. Ranging from experimental essay to radical re-enactments, Montgomery’s films are well-constructed labyrinths that playfully challenge the conventions of storytelling. Her work is powerfully original, and has deeply influenced filmmakers and artists across disciplines for nearly three decades. Montgomery will present three of her short works from the past decade, followed by a discussion on her unique approach to filmmaking.
