VSW Presents: John Cage, Variations III

December 1 (Part of the First Friday events)

7-9 pm

Live performance

  • In 1962, experimental composer John Cage conceived a method “for one or any number of people performing any actions” to compose unique scores using a process of indeterminacy. Visual Studies Workshop has invited local performers, musicians, artists and filmmakers to create their own scores and perform them simultaneously in the VSW auditorium. The audience is invited to walk through the space and interact with the sonic and visual landscape, while “leaving room for the use of unforeseen eventualities”.

  • Score for VARIATIONS III
