The Notebooks of Rose Lowder: Book Release and Screening
Saturday, November 3rd/ 6 pm – Book Sale 7 pm – Screening
French filmmaker Rose Lowder has been a major influence in the world of experimental cinema since the 1970’s. Working frame-by-frame in 16mm film, Lowder constructs complex visual phenomena that interweave color, texture, perspective and time, while focusing her lens on the rich landscape of the natural world. Lowder will present a program of classic and recent films, and give a talk on her unique technique for working with 16mm film as a tool for perceptual engagement. Join us as we celebrate the release of the latest publication from VSW Press: Bouquets 11-20: The Notebooks of Rose Lowder. Artist in attendance.
This event is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and the National Endowment for the Arts Art Works program.
