    Independent curator, writer and translator Greg de Cuir Jr. will discuss his research on Yugoslav documentary and experimental short films found in archives throughout the US and Europe. De Cuir will discuss his research in regional archives, and explore the parallels between two influential works in Structuralist cinema: Michael Snow’s Wavelength (1967) and Tomislav Gotovac’s Glenn Miller 1 (High School Playground 1) (1977).  Both films screened in 16mm.

    De Cuir is a California native who now lives in Belgrade, Serbia, where he is selector for the festival Alternative Film/Video. He was selector (with Kevin Jerome Everson) for the 64th Robert Flaherty Film Seminar, held this past summer at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.
