  • Join us for an afternoon of films and videos selected from the VSW archives by youth from Rochester’s Teen Empowerment.  Since 2003, Teen Empowerment has employed hundreds of Rochester youth who have engaged thousands of their peers, adults, and community leaders in youth-led initiatives. This program looks at media culture from the past and present with a focus on how teens are represented in the media. An open discussion moderated by members of Rochester Teen Empowerment will follow the screening.

Videos from the VSW Collection to be screened include:

B’ism Allah (1978), produced by Portable Channel, directed by Linda Tornabene and Ken Sarkis

Self-Help Productions (1973), an episode of WXXI’s Catch 21 program produced by Portable Channel and Self-Help Productions

This screening is part of VSW’s Community Curator program.
