    Empty Metal (2018)
Adam Khalil and Bayley Sweitzer, 85 min

Join us in the VSW Microcinema for the second film in our Framing Struggle series, EMPTY METAL (2018) by Adam Khalil & Bayley Sweitzer. This series is curated by Casey Asprooth Jackson.
Following the film, a discussion will be facilitated by artist and recent VSW resident Martin Hawk. Drawing on his own experience producing visual art in response to police violence, Martin will lead a Q&A exploring the themes at EMPTY METAL’s core: art and revolt, solidarity and collaboration, violence and apocalypse.
Martin Hawk is a cinematographer, photographer, and editor currently based in Rochester, NY. He is currently finishing his first feature length documentary, PRESSURE GRADIENT, exploring the shades between love, rage and rebellion as a Black person attempting to survive in Rochester, NY.
Film Description: A trio of telepathic revolutionaries recruit a punk band from Brooklyn for a mission to avenge the violent deaths of young Black men whose murderers have been able to kill with impunity.
