When he was just 13 years old, Rochester native Curtiss Markham started making the hour long epic The Search For Silverspear using cut-out animation and a Super 8 camera. Originally produced from 1987 to 1989, this Sword-and-Sorcery adventure was digitally restored and went to win Best Animated Short Feature at the Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival in 2015. Markham will also present a selection of animated shorts from the VSW film collection that were influential to him as a young animator.
