Join us Friday, May 29 to Sunday May 31, 2026 for a VSW Alumni Celebration! Join fellow students, teachers and VSW friends in Rochester to reconnect and celebrate 57 years of Visual Studies Workshop.
Friday, May 29
6:00pm – 9:00pm: Reception at VSW with food and refreshments.
Saturday, May 30
12:00pm – 4:00pm: Open House + a Picnic in the Susan B. Anthony square — Spend time in the VSW library and collections, view slide shows and other memorabilia streaming in the theater or play games and catch up in the park.
Open House Activities Happening Throughout the Day
Workshare/Lifeshare in the VSW Theater Drop a thumb drive off on Friday evening and sign up for a 10-20 minute spot to share your work or life in pictures – Don’t want to talk? We will continue to stream the slides throughout the day. Standard VSW critique forms will be available for giving feedback!
Archive Archive Archive Explore the hidden reaches of the VSW memorabilia and history collection and help us identify many unidentified people, artifacts and artworks.
Oral History Booth Enter the Oral History Booth and record your VSW memories for posterity and for fun.
Explore the Workshop’s darkroom, library, bookstore, moving image collection, residency studio, and gallery, and Learn about the video and film transfer lab and services.
Hang out in the park with others and enjoy a sandwich.

2:00pm-3:00pm Curator walkthrough for the exhibition Peer Bode: Signal into Memory, artist will be present.
5:30pm – 7:00pm Happy Hour (location to be determined)
Sunday, May 31
9:00am – 11:00am Coffee and Donuts at Joan Lyons’ house
